We follow the latest recommendations for both dog and cat vaccination from the American Animal Hospital Association and the Amercian Association of Feline Practitioners. We follow 3 year vaccine protocols for most adult pets and have vaccine packages for both younger pets (puppies and kittens) and adult pets. Each vaccine package is tailored to your pet's individual needs and risks. Our vaccine packages also include heartworm testing and stool sample exams for adult animals. Our puppy/ kitten packages are also tailored to your pet's individual needs and include a free 1st dose of flea and heartworm medication for puppies under 25# and a free 1st dose of flea control for kittens. In addition, at each visit a stool sample will be examined for the most common intestinal parasites and dewormer will be dispensed for Hookworm and Roundworm which we can get from our pets. We follow the Center for disease control recommenations for parasite control. You can find these recommendations here.
Microchips greatly increase the chance that pets will be reunited with their owners should they run away or get lost. In addition, some cities require either a collar with tags (which don't always stay on pets) or microchip implantation to be compliant with the animal laws. We implant AVID brand Microchips which are recognized across the United States. .
We are knowledgeable in all aspects of nutrition and can assist you in making sure the right type of diet is feed to your pet based on his or her individual needs.
We offer spays, neuters and declaws as routine surgeries. Before surgery, all patients are carefully examined for safety, and anesthetic plans are made for each pet. Surgical services are performed by highly trained and knowledgably veterinarians and technical staff to ensure the safest, most efficient procedures are being performed. We also offer ECG and oxygen saturation monitoring, pre-anesthetic blood work to check your pets internal organs, blood count and platelet counts, IV fluids to ensure your pet is hydrated and blood pressure stays elevated, and pain/anti-inflammatory medication to go home with for 3 days if you elect. We understand not all people can or want to do these items so we allow you as the client to decided what level of care you would like for your pet.
Many people aren't aware that pets need dental care too. They get many of the same diseases that we do in our mouth's including periodontal disease, cavities and tooth root abscesses. If this is not addressed, it may lead to liver, kidney and even heart disease. We perform routine dental cleanings and extractions using the same pre-anesthetic and intra operative care as we do in all surgical procedures. The big difference between pet and human dental cleanings is that pet's have to be placed under anesthesia. After the dental cleaning, plaque and tartar will start to accumulate almost immediately so it is very important to followed up with at home dental care. We offer many different options for at home dental care including teeth brushing, oral rinses, treats, water additives and sealants. All staff members are trained and ready to discuss which option would be best for and your pet.

Sometimes blood work or other diagnostic testing is necessary to determine what is causing your pet's illness or to monitor the internal organs if your pet is using long term medications. We use the largest veterinary laboratory in the country to perform our laboratory testing. For most tests the results are available to the doctor by the next morning. In more urgent cases, we do have the ablitity to run blood work in house to give us basic information in just minutes.
We can perform many abdominal, eye, and orthopedic surgeries in our clinic. Due to the nature of these surgeries pets often need to stay the night after the surgery to be closely monitored. If you need a specialized surgery please contact the clinic for more information.
Sometimes pet's are painful because of surgeries or procedures that we perform on them and sometimes pet's have chronic pain conditions that require pain medication to keep them comfortable. No matter what the cause, we use all the most up to date protocols for managing pain. Also we recommend the most effective and safest medications to treat your pet's pain.
We have a complete pharmacy in house and access to multiple veterinary compounding pharmacies if we need to have a medication specifically made for your pet or flavoring added to make giving the medications easier.
